    I’m a qualified therapist with over 15 years experience, working with children, adolescents, adults and families. I have previously worked at Parent Against Child Exploitation (PACE), Children Adolescent Mental Health Service in the NHS, Survive York, NSPCC, DVS Keighley. My approach is to create a safe and trusting environment for clients to explore difficulties. Specialisms; Anger, conflict resolution, Family issues, Problematic Substance abuse, Relationships, Loss, Domestic Violence, Abuse, Self Harm, Trauma, Suicide, Safeguarding and Child Protection.

    I qualified from The University of Nottingham in 2011 in Humanistic Counselling Practice. In the same year I started working for a charity supporting people experiencing addiction and their families, I have specialised within this area for the past 10 years. Before I trained as a therapist I worked within the recruitment sector for many years.

    I have worked therapeutically in both the voluntary sector and private sector supporting people with various addictions and I have many years’ experience with other mental and emotional difficulties, including anxiety, stress, relationship issues, loss and trauma.

I have experience in working with the NHS Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), in West Yorkshire, offering counselling in Primary and High Schools.

I currently work with young people and adults in a student support counselling service.

I pride myself on being non judgemental  and treat everyone with respect.

    I am proficient in Person Centred therapy and Transactional Analysis, as well as other Theoretical models including; Gestalt, Family Systemics, CBT Trauma informed Therapy and more, enabling me to have a flexible and person tailored approach.

I work with clients from 16 years upwards and have experience working with clients who have had issues from childhood, past or current relationships and bereavement and loss.

    I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, and a registered member of the BACP.  I am a person centred and humanistic therapist and I work face to face with adults to help you to make the positive changes you want to make to your life, by exploring your difficulties in an empathic and sympathetic way. 

    After 28 years working in a corporate environment, I am fully aware of the stress and anxiety that some jobs can engender and I have experience helping people conquer their anxiety, stress levels and depression, using tools such as CBT and Transactional Analysis. Through previous experience working at Talking Spaces and Just ‘B’ Bereavement Support Service in Harrogate, I also have significant experience in bereavement counselling.

I have worked in schools with sixth form students and in substance misuse centres as well as counselling organisations in Lewisham. I am familiar with working with anxiety, depression, body image, bullying and relationship issues. Having had a successful practice in London, I am now in Leeds.
