After gaining my diploma in Counselling, I went on to gain further qualifications in substance misuse, suicide prevention and mindfulness meditation. I have worked in schools with sixth form students and in substance misuse centres as well as counselling organisations in Lewisham. I am familiar with working with anxiety, depression, body image, bullying and relationship issues. Having had a successful practice in London, I am now working in Leeds.

I am a qualified Counsellor with 20 years Post graduate experience. I have worked continuously since qualifying both in the Public and Private sector, and have worked with Adults individuals and couples, Young People and Children.For 18 years I have worked in Addictions to Drugs and Alcohol both in Prisons, Residential Rehab and in the Community. I am a Specialist in “Addiction to Medications” and have helped people manage, reduce and stop medications such as Opiates and Benzodiazepines.
My most consistent feedback is that I have a warm and approachable manner therefore putting people at ease straight away. Qualified in 2009 at York University, I am an attachment focused BAPT Play/Filial therapist with 11 years experience in both clinical and academic settings. I am a young persons counsellor, able to work with emotional, psychological, behavioural and developmental difficulties, including ADHD and Autism with children/young persons from the ages of 3 – 18 years old.
I have experience working for NHS CAMHS and Place2be in both Primary and Secondary schools around Leeds. I also work for children’s therapy services in Leeds and South Yorkshire.

I qualified from The University of Nottingham in 2011 in Humanistic Counselling Practice. In the same year I started working for a charity supporting people experiencing addiction and their families, I have specialised within this area for the past 10 years. Before I trained as a therapist I worked within the recruitment sector for many years.
I have worked therapeutically in both the voluntary sector and private sector supporting people with various addictions and I have many years’ experience with other mental and emotional difficulties, including anxiety, stress, relationship issues, loss and trauma.
My model of psychotherapy is Integrative with a Person Centred core. This means I work in a non-judgmental way, listening with empathy to better understand what is troubling you. I offer therapy sessions which are open ended or short term. This will depend on the complexity and depth in which you would like to explore in therapy. I work face to face with individuals and remotely online.

I am a person centred and humanistic therapist and I work face to face with adults to help you to make the positive changes you want to make to your life, by exploring your difficulties in an empathic and sympathetic way.
After 28 years working in a corporate environment, I am fully aware of the stress and anxiety that some jobs can engender and I have experience helping people conquer their anxiety, stress levels and depression, using tools such as CBT and Transactional Analysis. Through previous experience working at Talking Spaces and Just ‘B’ Bereavement Support Service in Harrogate, I also have significant experience in bereavement counselling.

I previously worked in mental health crisis services and have experience working with survivors of sexual abuse and trauma. I also have training and experience working with individuals navigating the challenges of living with dyslexia and dyspraxia. I have over 10 years experience working in both the NHS and private sector with a range of presentations from anxiety and depression, mental disorder and individuals diagnosed with personalty disorder.
